Hey everyone! I just built my very first PC for about $4300, and I'm encountering an issue with my FPS. I have an R9 9950X3D, a Gigabyte 5080 Aero OC White Edition, an X870E Elite WiFi7 Ice motherboard, and 32GB of DDR5 RAM running at 6000. The problem is that I'm only getting around 65 FPS, while a YouTuber with similar specs is hitting about 144 FPS. He's using the same graphics card and RAM, but he has an R7 7800X3D instead. What could I have done wrong?

Make sure you're testing under the same conditions. He might be using frame generation or different settings. Also, what game are you playing? That can change a lot!

Make sure you have installed the correct chipset and display drivers. Sometimes, that's all it takes to see a significant improvement in performance.

There are optimizations to enhance performance like updating your drivers and reducing unnecessary software in your OS. Also, check for thermal throttling—your CPU might be slowing down due to heat. Your setup is solid, but that R7 7800X3D does give him an edge with its larger v-cache.
