Why is my Xbox’s Ethernet speed dropping from 300mbps to just 6mbps?

I'm experiencing a weird issue with my Xbox when using Ethernet. Initially, I get a stable connection at around 300mbps, but after about 30 seconds, the speed drops dramatically to between 2 and 6mbps. I've checked my wireless connection, and it's fine, but it seems like the wired connection is fluctuating a lot. I've tried reconnecting the cable multiple times, but the same issue persists. Anyone know what might be causing this?

Have you tried testing the Ethernet cable on a different device? It could be that the cable is fine for certain speeds but struggles to maintain the connection at higher rates. If you can’t swap devices, maybe borrow a friend's device to try something out.

I wish I could, but I don't have another device around to test it. I've tried wireless on the Xbox, and the download is still just 8mbps. My phone's speed test shows 350mbps, though, so it seems like the connection is solid everywhere but the Xbox.
