My sibling’s iPad won’t turn on—what can I do?

Hey everyone, my sibling's 8th Generation iPad just turned off while she was using it, and it won't turn back on. We charged it for two hours, but it still isn't responding. I also tried holding down the home button and the power button (not sure what they're really called, lol), but that didn't help either. She insists that she didn't get it near any water. Any ideas on what could be going on?

You might want to try charging it with another cable and adapter you know works. If that doesn't do it, connect it to a computer with iTunes and see if it's recognized there.

Have you tried using a different charger and cable? Sometimes they can break and it's a simple fix before diving into more complex issues.

I tried two chargers so far and still nothing.

If it's from around 2020 or 2021 and not refurbished, the battery might be completely drained. I suggest taking it to a technician to see if it just needs a battery replacement or if there's something else wrong with it.
