What are the best components for a gaming PC build around $1500 to $2000?

I've been out of the PC gaming loop for a while, and last I checked, things were a bit different from the days of Battlefield 3. I'm looking to build a capable gaming rig for 2K resolution without going for the absolute highest-end components. My budget is around $1500 to $2000, but if there's a solid build for less, I'm all ears. I need recommendations for key components like the motherboard, CPU (Is the X3D worth it?), RAM, GPU, and maybe some cooling options. Thanks for any insights!

If you're shopping at Microcenter, consider their bundle with a 7800X3D, RAM, and motherboard. Pair it with a 5070 or 9070 XT, and you should be well within your budget. Those setups are great for gaming at 2K without breaking the bank!

Thanks for that! I wasn't aware of the 9070 XT; is it a solid choice for gaming?
