Should I Upgrade My Motherboard or Go for a New Build?

My motherboard is completely damaged, but the rest of my gaming setup is functioning well. I mainly play League of Legends, Valorant, and some other casual games with friends. Currently, I have a Gigabyte B450M DS3H motherboard. I'm not very tech-savvy, so I need advice on whether I should just replace my motherboard with a better AM4 option to save money, or invest in an AM5 DDR5 setup. Any guidance would be much appreciated!

You can score a cheap used AM4 motherboard on places like Facebook Marketplace. It’s a great way to save some cash!

Could you share more details about your current specs? Sometimes the motherboard isn’t the part that needs replacing.

Why not list out your whole setup? Often, the motherboard might not be the only component that may need an upgrade.

Swapping out your motherboard is totally fine! If you've been happy with how your system performs, there's nothing wrong with getting a new AM4 board.

Thank you! That makes me feel better about my choice.

I’d recommend getting the MSI B550M PRO VDH WiFi. You can just plug in your existing components without needing to upgrade everything to AM5.

Thanks for the suggestion!

Honestly, just swapping the motherboard should do the trick for you. No need for a major overhaul.
