Hey everyone! For almost a year now, my PC has been shutting down unexpectedly. This typically happens while I'm gaming, but it also occurs when the system is just sitting idle. A peculiar thing I've noticed is that just before it shuts down, the fans rev up to full speed. Another oddity is that the PC sometimes turns off if I bump or hit my desk, which can't be a good sign. I've tried a bunch of troubleshooting videos and suggestions, but nothing seems to fix the issue. Here's my PC setup: RTX 4080 Super, 32 GB RAM, Ryzen 7 5800X, ROG Strix B550-F Gaming motherboard, and a Corsair RM850x (850W) power supply. Any thoughts or advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

It sounds like you might have a power supply issue, but 850W should be plenty for your build. How old is your PSU? Sometimes they can develop problems before they completely fail. Also, overheating can cause random shutdowns, so it's worth checking your cooling setup. Is your PC positioned in a way that could restrict airflow? Have you noticed it getting hot during use?
It might help to ensure your fans are clean and not blocked by dust. Keeping airflow clear is super important!
Have you checked the Windows Event Viewer? It can show you if there are any critical errors leading up to the shutdowns. Just search for 'Event Viewer' in the start menu, and you’ll find it. It might give you some clues about what’s happening before your PC shuts down.
I haven’t looked at that yet. Where exactly do I find these logs in Event Viewer?

The PSU is about 1 or 2 years old, so it's not that old. I did have it up against a wall, but I've moved it away a bit now. The fans seem to work fine, but sometimes the case does feel warm, though the temps on the GPU and other components seem okay when I check.
