Which GPU Should I Choose for Gaming: 5060 Ti, 7800 XT, or 9060 XT?

Hey folks, I'm planning to upgrade my GPU from a GTX 1660 and need some advice. I mainly play games like Diablo 4 and Path of Exile 2 at 1440p on high settings. I'm considering three options: the 5060 Ti, 7800 XT, and 9060 XT, all with 16GB of VRAM. Pricing is similar across the board, so that's not a major factor. I've read that the 7800 XT generally has better raw performance, but since it's older and uses FSR3, I'm unsure if it's the best choice for future-proofing. The 5060 Ti might not be as powerful as the 7800 XT, but with DLSS 4, it could potentially outperform the 7800 XT down the line, especially with Nvidia's reputed driver support. The 9060 XT is also intriguing as it's newer and features FSR 4. I'd love to hear your thoughts and insights on these GPUs. Thanks!

For your needs, I'd suggest taking a close look at the 7800 XT. It’s currently the best performer among those options and offers 16GB of VRAM, which is beneficial for future gaming titles. If the 7800 XT is the most affordable option for you, that’s the way to go. Just keep in mind that if you’re leaning towards more modern features like DLSS, the 5060 Ti might be interesting, but performance is key, especially for your gaming style.

Thanks for the insight! Do you think the difference in performance is significant enough to justify the price? I just want to make sure I get the most bang for my buck.

The prices you've mentioned definitely matter! If the 7800 XT is around $650 and offers good long-term performance, that's hard to beat. The 5060 Ti at $680 isn’t worth it unless you really need DLSS features. If you can find the 9060 XT for a better price than the others, it could be a good option too, especially since it’s newer and features FSR 4.

Got it! I’ll make sure to check current prices closely before making a decision.

Honestly, I'd recommend the 7800 XT for what you want to do. For games like Diablo 4 and Path of Exile 2, the extra performance will be noticeable. The 5060 Ti is good, especially with DLSS support, but for straight performance, the 7800 XT has the edge. If you're comfortable waiting a bit, the 9060 XT might offer new insights soon since it’s still rather fresh on the market.

Thanks! I’m fine with waiting for more reviews on the 9060 XT before making a final call.

If you’re not considering the 9070, then aim for the 7800 XT or even a 6800 XT if you can find it at a good price. Those options don’t seem to have issues with newer drivers, making them reliable choices while fitting in your gaming needs.
