What’s the best strategy for upgrading my PC components over time?

Hey everyone! I've got a PC built with my partner that includes an AMD Ryzen 5 5600X, an MSI GeForce GTX 1650 Super, 16GB of Corsair DDR4 RAM, and a Gigabyte A520M AORUS Elite motherboard, among other components. It runs games like League of Legends and CS2 pretty well, but I'd love to build one for myself and make some upgrades. Unfortunately, I can't buy all the parts at once due to budget constraints, so I'm looking for advice on where to start with upgrades. Are there any specific components you think I should prioritize or change? I use OBS and TikTok Live Studio for streaming. Thanks for your help!

Right now isn't the best time to buy PC parts, and prices might keep going up. If you're aiming for the most performance while upgrading bit by bit, it would be ideal to buy everything at once. However, if that's not an option, consider starting with the RAM, SSD, and GPU since those tend to have fluctuating prices. Also, if you plan on streaming, Nvidia GPUs are better because they support NVENC for encoding. Good luck with your build!

I recommend just upgrading the GPU for now and keeping everything else as-is. You could save up for a full build later on. Just remember that building it over time means you might need to adjust your budget and plan, especially since you want separate PCs for you and your partner!

Yeah, that's what I worry about too! Not knowing the budget makes it tough to plan things. But we're definitely not selling this PC; we want to have one each!

That sounds like a smart plan! Just keep an eye on the parts you want to upgrade to find the best deals.
