I'm encountering a frustrating issue across multiple installations of Linux on two different MacBook Pro 2015 15-inch models. Despite doing clean installs and formatting the drives multiple times, the systems keep reverting to a read-only file system. I can't seem to install or update anything. Has anyone else experienced this or know how to fix it?

What distro are you using? Sometimes certain distros can have specific issues on particular hardware.
You can try testing different Linux distros in your browser with DistroSea. It's a handy tool for exploring without installing anything. Also, there's this project called Penguins-Eggs that might help you create or remaster your Linux system, which can avoid some of these issues if you want to customize things more.
I had a similar issue, and it turned out to be a problem with the installation medium. Make sure your USB or DVD is clean and properly formatted. Sometimes corrupt media can lead to strange issues like read-only file systems.
