I recently got a X870e Apex motherboard that is equipped with a Wi-Fi 7 card. However, I'm planning to run Windows 10, and I've found there are no drivers available for this card. Can I replace the Wi-Fi 7 card with a Wi-Fi 6e card instead?

What CPU are you using with your X870e? If it's a dual CCD processor, Windows 10 might not perform well, and you could experience significant performance drops.

Right now, I'm just testing with a 7600X, but I plan to go with a 9800X3D. If I switch to a dual CCD CPU, I’ll be using Process Lasso.

Have you tried using the Windows 11 driver? Many drivers today come bundled with support for both Windows 10 and 11, and sometimes motherboard manufacturers don’t list them specifically for Windows 10.

Honestly, I'd suggest against building a new system with Windows 10. You'll likely have to upgrade to Windows 11 pretty soon anyway. Running Windows 10 post-End of Life is risky, unless you keep your machine completely offline.

I'm currently on Windows 10 IoT LTSC, and it gets security updates until 2032.

Instead of going through all this trouble, why not just upgrade to Windows 11? It's not as complicated as it seems, and most issues have been resolved in the newer version.

If you read through my replies, you'd know I'm pretty cautious about upgrades. It's not that simple for me.

You might find that Windows 11 drivers will work on Windows 10. Have you completely checked the support page for your motherboard to see if they've listed any drivers yet?

Unfortunately, there are no drivers available for the Wi-Fi card on Windows 10.
