Hey everyone! I'm planning to upgrade my setup with an RX 9070 XT and I'm considering getting an OLED monitor. I currently have a Ryzen 7 7800X3D and I play a mix of AAA titles and older games like Far Cry and Uncharted. I'm all about that great image quality.
Given the price differences—around €400 for a 1440p OLED and about €700 for a 4K OLED—do you think it's worth spending the extra €300 for 4K? What would you recommend?

It really depends on your monitor size preference. I have a 27" 280Hz 1440p WOLED, and it feels amazing in fast-paced shooters, plus it still looks great for other games. If you're okay with either size, both can be great!
4K is the way to go! I just paired my RX 9070 XT with a 4K display and it’s mind-blowing. I’ve played several demanding AAA titles and noticed that the difference between native 4K and FSR at 4K is minimal. You'll love the extra detail that 4K brings to the experience!
I'd lean toward the 4K if you plan on using it as a PC monitor. I’ve used both, and 4K just feels way sharper. But keep in mind that 4K can sometimes make reading text a bit tricky—some fonts don't look as nice. OLED is brilliant for watching and casual use, though!
Honestly, I just went with a 27" 1440p OLED instead of 4K since my budget was around $500. It's fantastic for competitive gaming—frames are super high, and I still get great graphics in single-player games. For me, 2K strikes a sweet spot between performance and quality!
If you're looking for the best visual experience, definitely go for the 4K. I have a Samsung Odyssey G8 4K 32" QDOLED with a refresh rate of 240Hz and the response time is just 0.3ms. The performance is stunning—achieving around 80 to 120+ FPS in ultra settings, even with ray tracing on and DLSS balanced. Your setup should be able to handle it without issues!
Sounds amazing! I'm leaning towards 4K as well. By the way, your rig sounds incredible!

Have you noticed any FPS drops in high-demand games? I'm worried about performance.
