I recently had my HP Victus 16 s1000 motherboard replaced due to an overheating issue with the VRMs. After the tech left, I noticed that the replacement wasn't fully completed, as the manufacturing mode was still unlocked, and I spent the next couple of hours trying to lock it myself. Now, I'm facing a huge problem: my GPU is showing a staggering 590W power usage, which seems impossible. It maxes out the clocks even when I'm unplugged and my power management settings are on normal. I've tried wiping the CPU, chipset, and GPU drivers, as well as re-flashing the BIOS, but nothing has helped. Should I consider wiping the OS using a flash drive or is there another solution? You might also want to check your GPU settings in the BIOS again to see if there’s a misconfiguration, especially after the update. Sometimes there can be power settings that get reset or are set incorrectly after an update.
