Why is my laptop running so slow after reinstalling Windows?

I accidentally deleted my Windows profile and had a tough time getting it reinstalled. Now that Windows is back up, my HP Omen 16 laptop is super sluggish! It takes forever to load anything, and everything feels slow and unresponsive. I've been working on installing drivers and updates all day, but nothing seems to help. Is there any way to fix this? My laptop specs include 16GB of RAM, an RTX 3060 graphics card, a 1TB SSD, and an Intel i7 processor.

Honestly, if Windows is this frustrating, you might want to consider switching to Linux! There are some great options like Linux Mint or Kubuntu. Windows can be bogged down with endless updates and bloatware, draining your laptop's performance. If you’re open to it, Linux could be a smoother experience once you get used to it!

I would love to switch, but I do a lot of VR gaming, and I heard Linux doesn't support that well yet. It's a tough choice!

What method did you use to reinstall Windows? Sometimes the way you reinstall can impact performance. For instance, using the recovery menu and formatting from there can lead to some leftover issues. It might help to do a clean install using a USB drive instead, if you haven't tried that yet!

I used the recovery menu option and formatted Windows, but maybe a clean install from a USB is worth a shot!
