Why is my CPU hitting 100% usage while gaming?

I've been experiencing a problem where my CPU usage climbs to 100% when I'm gaming. I initially thought it might be related to outdated GPU drivers or CPU software, but I haven't found any solutions yet. My CPU temps are between 49-60°C during gameplay. I'm using an Intel Arc B580 12GB GPU and a Ryzen 5 7600 CPU, and my rig is in a compact case with just three fans and a CPU air cooler. Could this compact setup be contributing to the issue? Any help would be appreciated!

If you're running Siege at low settings and you see the CPU usage peaking at 100%, that's usually not ideal, but it’s not uncommon for resource-heavy games. You mentioned it worked fine before, so consider looking into whether any recent updates or changes might have affected performance.

Sounds like you might just be playing a CPU-heavy game. If you’re playing something like Siege, that can ramp up CPU usage pretty quickly. Have you noticed if it’s only this game causing the spike? Sometimes background processes can sneak in and affect performance too.

It’s possible that something is hogging your CPU in the background, even if you think the game is the only thing running. But since your temps are within a safe range, it might be worth checking your power settings and ensuring there’s no thermal throttling. Have you adjusted any performance settings recently?
