I had a problem with ants causing damage to my power supply unit (PSU), possibly making a nest inside it. I've replaced the PSU, but my computer still won't boot up. I'm using a ROG Strix B550A motherboard with a Ryzen 7 5700X processor. Currently, I see the amber DRAM light on, the fan lights aren't on (I'm not sure if I missed connecting some cables during reassembly), and the RAM stick lights don't light up either (they work fine when tested on another PC). So far, I've tried switching out the RAM and clearing the CMOS battery, but the amber light remains. Reseat the CPU is something I'm considering as a last resort since I just applied new thermal paste. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

You could always take a more... proactive approach! But seriously, maybe channel that frustration into a plan to make sure they don’t come back and cause more chaos!
To start troubleshooting, you should strip everything down to the basics: just the PSU, motherboard, CPU, RAM, and GPU. Disconnect any case fans or extra components. This way, you can check if your PC will POST with just these essentials. If your PSU was modular, double-check that none of the old cables are connected. It's possible that the ants may have caused a short circuit on the PSU's DC side, which could also have damaged the motherboard.
