Is a 650W Seasonic Focus PSU enough for a 7800X3D and 9070XT?

I'm looking to upgrade my GPU from a 3070 to a 9070XT and I want to know if my current power supply, a Seasonic Focus 650W 80+ Gold, is sufficient for my setup. I have a 7800X3D CPU and I'm considering the Powercolor Reaper version of the 9070XT, which I've heard has lower power consumption. I know overclocking isn't really recommended, but I'm also curious if the Sapphire Nitro 9070XT would work too. My main gaming is at 1080p and possibly 1440p in the future. Here's a brief rundown of my build: Asus ROG Strix B650 A Gaming motherboard, 16GB of DDR5 RAM at 6000MT/s, a 2TB M.2 SSD, an older 500GB SSD, and a 2TB HDD. If 650W isn't enough, would a standard 9070 also work? Thanks in advance for your help!

If you're set on getting a 9070XT, I'd recommend upgrading to at least a 750W power supply to ensure stability. Even though the 650W might handle it, it's always better to have a bit more power, especially since you're gaming at higher resolutions. For a simpler solution, just snag a regular 9070, and the 650W should do the trick without issues.

So just to clarify, a RX 9070 would work fine with my 650W setup?

I think your 650W PSU should be fine for both the 7800X3D and 9070XT, especially if you're aiming for a Powercolor variant since it tends to use less power. However, if you really want to play it safe, going for a 750W PSU might be a good idea, just in case you end up pushing your system more down the line. Better to have a little extra headroom!

Got it! So a RX 9070 will definitely work with a 650W PSU then?
