My CPU recently died, and I'm on a tight budget. I'm trying to decide between getting a Ryzen 5 2600 for $45 or a Ryzen 5 3600 for $60. I'm not planning any upgrades for this PC in the future. Given that the only demanding game I'll be playing is Cyberpunk 2077, is the slight performance improvement of the 3600 worth the extra cost?

Upgrading to the 5000 series for just a bit more is a no-brainer based on performance. If it's within your budget, definitely consider it.
The 3600 offers a noticeable boost over the 2600, which can really help in games like Cyberpunk. I'd recommend it without hesitation for better performance!
Honestly, the 3600 is definitely the better choice for just a small price difference. It will perform noticeably better, especially in Cyberpunk where you'll want every bit of performance you can get.
In some titles, you might find the performance boost is better than expected, but it heavily depends on the game. If I were you, I'd go for the 3600 to get that performance bump!
I think the Ryzen 5 3600 is definitely worth the extra cash! Even if you can find a way to stretch your budget a little further, the 5600 would be an awesome upgrade too. I made the jump from the 2600 to the 5600, and the difference in performance, especially in Cyberpunk with ray tracing, is seriously impressive.

Thanks for the insight! I've heard mixed things about how much the difference is in various games.
