Is it worth buying a 5080 or should I go for the 5070 Ti?

I'm about to build my first PC and I'm torn between getting the 5080 or the 5070 Ti. I've heard different opinions on their performance differences and whether the extra cost for the 5080 is justified. What do you think?

For those who just game at 1440p, the 5070 Ti is an excellent choice and saves you cash. If you need CUDA for specific tasks, consider the 9070 XT, which competes well against both cards without the higher price tag.

Consider your overall setup, too. If you're running top-tier components, the 5080 may be worth the extra investment. But if it's a mixed-use setup, the 5070 Ti will serve you well for 1440p gaming.

Yeah, I'd echo that. The performance gain is only meaningful if the rest of your parts can keep up with the 5080.

The 5080 is about 15% faster than the 5070 Ti, but you might find the price jump isn't worth it for just that performance boost. If you're on a budget, the 5070 Ti holds up pretty well for gaming. You could save that extra cash for upgrades elsewhere.

If you're gaming at 4K and can stretch your budget, that extra performance from the 5080 might make a difference. But for 1440p, stick with the 5070 Ti.

As someone who's got the 5080, I can tell you that overclocking it can yield 4090-level performance, but it might not be worth the extra cash unless you're really set on having the best.

It really boils down to your budget. If saving around $400 means you can invest in an OLED monitor instead, that's where you'd notice a bigger difference immediately—screen quality matters!
