I've been dealing with a random reboot issue on my PC ever since I upgraded some components recently. The PC just shuts off and restarts without warning, leaving me with a black screen. This problem began after I swapped out my PSU, CPU, and CPU cooler. I switched from a Nox Urano VX 650W 80+ Bronze to a Corsair RM750e (2025), and upgraded from a Ryzen 5 5500 to a Ryzen 7 5700X, along with moving to a Thermalright Peerless Assassin 120 SE cooler.
Initially, I suspected the GPU since it was working fine with the previous setup, but that doesn't seem right now. I also tried adjusting my RAM frequency and running a system file check, but nothing has worked so far. I need some advice on how to pinpoint whether the issue lies with the CPU, RAM, GPU, or PSU since AMD isn't providing any details about the crashes. Here are my current specs:
- GPU: AMD Rx 7800xt Gigabyte 16GB
- CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 5700X 3.4GHz
- Cooler: Thermalright Peerless Assassin 120 SE
- Motherboard: Gigabyte B550M DS3H
- RAM: Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4 3600Mhz 32GB (2x8GB x2)
- PSU: CORSAIR RM750e (2025)
- Case: Nfortec Lynx Black

Have you checked the event viewer for any critical errors? It might help you pinpoint what's causing the reboots. Also, is it happening during gaming or is it completely random? Getting that context could narrow it down.
Your CPU or PSU could be faulty. One quick way to check would be to swap back to the Ryzen 5500 and see if the problem persists. That could save you a lot of troubleshooting!
First off, did you remove the sticker from your new CPU cooler before installing it? If not, that could lead to overheating. Also, ensure your RAM is compatible with your motherboard; if it's not on the QVL list, it might crash when running at higher speeds. You could try using a program like WhoCrashed to see if it points out any driver issues after a crash. Lastly, did you do a fresh Windows install or are you running an old one? Conflicting drivers can cause problems as well!
If you can, a fresh install might be worth it. It can eliminate a lot of driver confusion.

I did remove the sticker, and the temps are good—never over 60°C. As for the RAM, I had it set to 3466, then lowered to 3200, but still crashted. I turned off EXPO, and it seems stable now! I'm going to try WhoCrashed too since that's a solid suggestion. I didn't do a fresh install since I hate all the unnecessary Windows 11 bloat, but maybe it's time to consider it.
