I recently built a new PC for my wife, but unfortunately, her Corsair Vengeance 6000MT/s DDR5 RAM turned out to be faulty under load. I'm currently in the process of getting that RAM replaced. In the meantime, my system has 2x16 Corsair Vengeance 6400MT/s DDR5 RAM, and I'm considering giving her one of those sticks so she can use her computer while we wait for the replacement. I know the speed will be significantly slower with just one stick, but will that cause any problems? Is there anything specific I should be aware of while doing this?

It’s just a temporary fix; you'll experience a slight decrease in performance and capacity. However, once the new RAM arrives from RMA, everything will get back to normal. Just make sure her system has decent cooling and nothing else is under heavy load while using a single stick.

Exactly! Just keep her expectations realistic while she’s using the PC and it should be fine until you get the replacement.
