I accidentally spilled soda on the lower part of my laptop keyboard, specifically on the keys for Ctrl, Fn, Win, Alt, and Shift. I reacted quickly and tilted the laptop upside down to minimize damage, and after that, I removed the key caps and cleaned them. As far as I can tell, the laptop is functioning fine, and I haven't seen any signs of liquid getting inside. There are small openings on the bottom for the CPU and other components, and they appear clean. Since I only spilled a small amount, am I in the clear?

It's great that you acted fast! Generally, if your laptop seems to be working fine right now, that’s a good sign. However, soda can be harmful due to the sugar and acidity. Many laptops do have drainage systems that can help avoid serious damage, but the only way to be completely sure is to open it up and clean inside. If you can't do that, keep an eye on it for any unusual behavior, and check for sticky keys or other issues in the coming days.
Hey, I’d say you’re lucky! Just remember that even if it’s working now, soda residue can eventually cause problems. If you can, look for some videos on how to safely take apart your laptop for a more thorough cleaning. Better safe than sorry!

What if I can't take it apart?
