I've been trying to recover my Apple ID password for three weeks now, and it's been such a hassle. Even though I know my password, the system won't let me in. To make things worse, I can't use my phone at all while trying to recover it. I've submitted my bank details to verify my identity, but I'm still stuck. If I don't use my phone for 72 hours, they just send me another message saying how much longer I'll have to wait. This situation is so frustrating! Has anyone else experienced this?

Have you tried using the Settings app on your iPhone to reset your password? Avoid the website if you can; it's best used as a last resort. Just go to Settings > [Your Name] > Sign-In & Security > Change Password. If it prompts you to sign in first, enter your password three times, and you should see the Reset Password option. This way, you can at least keep using your phone while sorting this out!
Wait, you forgot your password, but you know it? That's confusing. By the way, where are you located? That might help others give you better advice.
You might want to check out the official recovery process outlined by Apple. It's really the only way to regain access if you've locked yourself out. I get how frustrating it is, but it's a security measure. Good luck! Here’s the link: support.apple.com/en-us/118574
