Should I Choose the 5700X3D or 5800X3D for Gaming?

I'm looking to upgrade my CPU and trying to decide between the 5700X3D and 5800X3D. I plan to pair either with my 7900XT GPU and 32GB of DDR4 RAM, primarily for gaming. My budget is tight since I'm sticking with AM4 for now and won't be upgrading to AM5 until it comes out. The 5700X3D is priced at around £200, which seems like a great deal, but I wonder if it will hold up until I can upgrade to AM6. On the other hand, the 5800X3D would cost an additional £120. From what I've seen in benchmarks, the performance difference appears minimal, especially in 1440p gaming where the extra frames don't seem significant. I'm currently using a Ryzen 7 3700X, so I'm expecting a decent performance boost regardless of which one I choose. What do you all think?

If that extra 5 FPS means a lot to you, then sure, get the 5800X3D! But consider if it's truly worth the extra £120. For most, the 5700X3D will be more than enough!

Honestly, I'd go with the 5700X3D. It's already a powerful CPU and should serve you well for a while. Plus, saving the cash is a smart move. It’s quite a capable chip for gaming, trust me!

Exactly! No need to splurge for that tiny performance difference. Save that cash for a future upgrade!

There's really just a 5% performance difference, so you might as well choose the cheaper option unless you really want those extra frames. But keep an eye on prices, don’t pay over MSRP!

Stick with the 5700X3D. Performance-wise, they’re quite similar, and the amount you save can be better invested elsewhere, like in a faster GPU or more RAM!

The 5700X3D is a solid pick—especially at £200! It’s really hard to beat that price-to-performance ratio. Just look at how prices jumped from $320 to $450 over here, so you're getting a steal!

It’s definitely a good deal compared to the outrageous prices we see sometimes. Go for it!
