Why Does My PC Crash When I Connect or Disconnect Headphones?

I've been having some issues with my PC crashing whenever I disconnect my headphones. Sometimes, they disconnect on their own, and when I try to reconnect or disconnect them, the system crashes and gives me an error that something went wrong. The crash seems to be related to the Realtek audio drivers since it mentions the RTKVHD64.sys file failing. Has anyone experienced this or knows how to fix it?

What kind of headphones are you using? Are they USB or do they plug into the headphone jack with a 3.5mm connector? That RTKVHD64.sys driver crashing is definitely linked to Realtek. Have you thought about updating your Realtek audio drivers? You can usually find the latest drivers on your computer's support site or the motherboard's website if you built your own system.

I'm using Astro A10s, but I've also tried another pair of headphones. They connect via the headphone port. I've tried updating the drivers, but it doesn't seem to help.
