I'm excited to build my first PC and I'm using PC Part Picker for my setup. I'm a bit of a perfectionist, which makes it hard for me to resist going for top-of-the-line components, even if I don't really need them for my gaming (1440p, single-player, modding). My budget is between £1500 and £1800, and here's what I've got so far:
- **CPU:** AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D 4.2 GHz 8-Core Processor
- **Cooler:** Thermalright Phantom Spirit EVO 69 CFM CPU Cooler
- **Memory:** Corsair Vengeance 32 GB (2 x 16 GB) DDR5-6000 CL30
- **Storage:** Western Digital WD_Black SN850X 2 TB M.2-2280 PCIe 4.0 X4 NVME SSD
- **GPU:** I'm torn between the Palit GamingPro OC GeForce RTX 5070 Ti for £749 or the Sapphire NITRO+ Radeon RX 9070 XT for £679. I'm leaning towards the NVIDIA card since I've heard it handles ray tracing better, especially with GTA 6 on the horizon.
I'm also not sure about the motherboard, case, power supply, and operating system. Any advice would really help!

Looks like you're on the right track! If ray tracing is a priority for you, the NVIDIA RTX 5070 Ti is a great choice for better performance. Also, consider a Zotac card if you go NVIDIA; they offer 5-year warranties.
For a motherboard, I’d recommend the B850 Tomahawk, and for the PSU, consider the Superflower Leadex VII 850W. As for the OS, you can find Windows 11 keys for around $10 online—just make sure to buy from a reputable site!
PSU recommendations: go for 750W or higher, and fully modular is the way to go. Don’t skimp—having that extra headroom is really beneficial for long-term use.
Your parts look solid! But just a heads-up, GTA 6 might not be out for PC until at least 2027 or 2028, so planning specifically for that might be overkill right now.
Be careful with the RAM—make sure you get the AMD version. They look similar but can have different specifications, which are key for compatibility.
