Should I Upgrade My Monitor or My CPU and RAM?

I'm evaluating my current PC setup which includes a Ryzen 9 5900x, Radeon 7900xt, and a 32GB DDR4 memory. I'm considering buying an ASUS PG27AQWP-W OLED monitor, but I'm thinking it might be smarter to save that money for an upgrade to the AM5 platform instead. Right now, I have a decent 1440p monitor, but I'd love the OLED experience. The catch is, DDR5 prices are quite high, and I'm not facing any performance issues with my current build in modern games. Should I spend $1.1k on this monitor or hold off and wait to upgrade my CPU and RAM?

It really boils down to what you value more. If a 4K OLED screen is going to enhance your gaming experience significantly, I'd say go for it! But if you're aiming for the latest tech and future-proofing your build, start saving for the AM5 upgrade. It’s all about your priorities.

I get that! I'm just considering if the OLED would be a game-changer for me since I’m not having any issues with gameplay now.

If it were me, I'd lean towards getting the new monitor. The way I see it, your current setup handles modern games well, so it might be wise to hold off on the AM5 upgrades for now due to high DDR5 prices. You can always wait it out, and in the meantime, enjoy a fantastic viewing experience with the OLED monitor!

Exactly! Plus, display tech improves quickly, and if you wait, maybe prices will drop or better options will come out. Enjoy the upgrade with the monitor first!
