I've had my Asus Rog Strix G16 laptop for a few years, and for the past few months, the fan has been making some annoying noises. Recently, it has started to make squeaking sounds, and I'm worried that it might be a problem. I'm not sure if it's just a dust issue or something more serious. I'm also hesitant to open it myself since I don't want to ruin anything and I can't afford to take it to a technician right now. Can anyone help me figure out what to do?

You might want to check if there's a repair manual on iFixit. It has guides for beginners, and it could give you the confidence to tackle this yourself. It might be easier than you think!
The noises could be due to bad bearings or dust buildup in the fan. If it's unbalanced, it can cause overheating, so it's best not to keep using it in that condition. Consider getting it checked out soon!
I really need it for work, though. Do you think it could wait until my paycheck on the 31st?
Yeah, if you're careful, it should be okay to wait. Just try to avoid heavy tasks if possible!

Yeah, I get that! But if you really can't risk it, maybe just keep an eye on it until you can afford a fix.
