Troubleshooting My New GPU: No Display Issues with 5070

I just received my new 5070 GPU from a retailer, and I've been struggling to get it to display anything for about three hours now. I previously had an RX 6650 XT, which worked fine. I used DDU to completely uninstall it before installing the 5070. I upgraded my power supply from a 650W to a 750W, but still no display. I've tried using both the included PCIe to 12VHPWR cable and the one from my new PSU, but the system won't boot. I've switched my BIOS to PCIe 4.0 since my motherboard is old and checked all connections, but at this point, I'm feeling pretty exhausted. The only things I haven't tried yet are using a DisplayPort (I don't have a cable) and resetting the CMOS, which I might attempt tomorrow. Any suggestions? I'm really eager to get this GPU up and running!

Have you confirmed if the fans on the GPU are spinning and whether there are any indicators lighting up on the motherboard? It sounds like a good idea to reset the CMOS, and definitely try out DisplayPort if you can get a cable. Also, make sure the GPU and all the cables are properly seated. If it still doesn't work, you might consider an RMA.

It’s weird that the GPU isn’t working but the RX 6650 XT was fine. If your keyboard and mouse light up temporarily before staying on, that's a good sign, but keep an eye on any debug LEDs on the motherboard. Sounds like resetting the CMOS could help. Just hang in there; once you try DisplayPort, hopefully it'll kick into action!
