Should I Replace My iPhone Battery at 87% Health Before a Trip?

I have an iPhone 15 Plus that's currently at 87% battery health after 2.5 years of use. Since I'm planning a two-week trip this summer, I'm worried that my battery is draining too quickly. I have Apple Care+, so I'm curious if they'd replace the battery even though it's not under 80% health. If not, what would the cost be for a replacement?

You could try making a bit of damage to the phone if you're feeling adventurous since you have AppleCare+. Just make sure it’s something that warrants a replacement! But if that’s not your style, an external battery is a much safer option.

Unfortunately, it doesn't look like Apple will cover a battery replacement under their policy unless your battery health falls below 80%. So, at 87%, you might end up paying for it if you decide to go that route.

Yeah, I agree with that. I think most Apple stores won’t even consider a paid replacement unless your battery's health is below 80%. Just keep in mind that if your battery is swollen, they may make exceptions.

Honestly, I’d just take a portable charger with you while on your trip. It could save you a lot of hassle, and you won’t have to worry about the battery replacement.
