I recently got a Dell Alienware 16 Aurora AC16250 that came with Ubuntu 24.04 pre-installed. This version has some additional Dell repositories compared to the standard Ubuntu version. Everything else seems to be working well, but I'm having a real issue with the audio—especially with bass sounds that cause the speakers to sizzle. I checked with Gemini to diagnose the problem, but nothing changed. I even tried installing Windows to see if it was a hardware issue, and the audio worked perfectly fine there. I'm hoping to stick with Linux, especially a Debian-based distro with GNOME, preferably Dell's version of Ubuntu. Can anyone help me troubleshoot this speaker problem or suggest any alternatives that might work better?

Just to clarify, Ubuntu doesn’t require a subscription for updates. That’s more typical of RHEL or SUSE. You might want to check your audio drivers or settings in Ubuntu to see if everything is configured correctly.
Have you tried reaching out to Dell support? Since it came with Ubuntu pre-installed, it's supposed to work seamlessly with that OS. They might be able to provide you with specific patches or fixes that can help you out.
Consider doing a clean install of Ubuntu 25.10. Alternatively, using another distro like Arch Linux or Fedora with KDE could fix your issues since they might handle audio better. Just be careful if you lean back toward Debian-based systems; it's best suited for server use, in my opinion.
