Can I Use RAM with Different Speeds and Latencies Together?

I'm looking to upgrade my computer's RAM and I have a couple of sticks: one runs at 3200 MHz with CL16 and the other at 3600 MHz with CL18. They are the same brand, but with different speeds and timings. My main concern is whether I can use both together without issues. I know they will likely run at the slower speed, but will my PC, primarily for gaming, function well enough, or should I wait until I can upgrade to matching sticks?

If you mix them, they'll operate at the speed of the slower one, which is 3200 MHz. The CL rating will likely default to CL18 with the slower stick. As for performance, you might not notice much difference unless you're into heavy multitasking or specific memory-intensive tasks, but for gaming, it should be fine!

Yeah, it'll definitely run at CL18, which is a bit slower, but probably won’t impact your gaming too much!

Are you trying to run 4 sticks or just the two? If you're only adding one stick to two existing ones, it's generally a decent setup. Just keep in mind that mismatched RAM can lead to stability issues sometimes.
