Recommendations for Reliable Dedicated Linux Servers

I'm looking to transition some production services from VPS to a dedicated server. Key requirements include full root access, the latest version of Ubuntu LTS, solid single-thread performance for databases, and enough cores for Docker containers and a few KVM virtual machines. My budget is between $150 and $250 a month, which means I'm not aiming for enterprise-grade hardware. I found a provider that offers instant deployment of Linux dedicated servers with solid AMD and Intel options, free reinstalls, and 1Gbps ports. Has anyone actually managed a self-hosted Linux server with them? How's the uptime, network speed, and hardware reliability in real-world use? Any surprises with the control panel or support?

I've been using Hetzner for 10 years now, and I haven't had any issues. Their dedicated servers are reliable and offer great performance.

Yeah, Hetzner has some fantastic deals too. I see their dedicated servers starting at just €37 a month!

Same here! We’ve been with Hetzner for 5 years; their server performance and support have been top-notch. Highly recommended!

A few years back, I had a solid experience with Online.net, now known as Scaleway. Their customer support was quite good, and their dedicated servers were reliable for running databases and web services.

I've had a different experience with Online. Their support was really lackluster when I needed them, and I wouldn't suggest them for serious infra.

Honestly, I’d also recommend checking Proxmox; it’s great for virtualization if you're considering your own setup.

Have you considered building your own solution? If it's for home use, something like Proxmox could work. I run a few VMs on inexpensive Dell mini PCs, and it covers all my needs quite affordably.

That's true, but OP is specifically looking for a provider, not a DIY setup.

With the current market for RAM and SSDs, you might find costs inflated. I’m currently paying around $110 a month with OVH for an AMD 5900X setup with 32GB RAM and a 512GB SSD, and it's been very reliable.
