Help with Connecting My PS4 Controller to PC via USB

I'm struggling to get my PlayStation 4 controller connected to my computer using a USB cable. I have two USB cables; one works intermittently, causing the controller to vibrate but not maintain a stable connection. The other cable is brand new and supports data transfer, but my computer doesn't recognize the controller when I use it. I've also tried uninstalling the controller drivers from the unstable cable and reconnecting with the new one, but no luck. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

First off, make sure that your new cable is indeed a data cable and not just a charging cable. You can test it with another device to see if it transfers data properly. Sometimes cables advertised for data transfer can be faulty or not true data cables at all. If that's good, try different USB ports on your computer as well, just to rule out a port issue.

Also, there's a chance your new cable could be defective. If it's possible, try borrowing another USB cable from a friend or family member who has had success with their PS4 controller. It’ll help you see if the cable is the issue or if there might be something else going on with your controller or PC.
