I recently purchased an iPad from a retailer, but it turns out that they weren't authorized. After running into some technical problems, I had to restore the device, and now I'm stuck because I lost my Apple ID password and can't recover it. I reached out to Apple support and provided my invoice, but they keep rejecting my case. I've done some digging and found out that the retailer is indeed unauthorized, which might be why I'm not getting help. What are my next steps to resolve this?

If you lost your Apple ID password, you really should try to recover it first. Follow the steps on Apple's support site to reset your password. If you're still having trouble after that, things get complicated, and it sounds like you may be out of options.
I recommend submitting your proof of purchase to Apple. It might take a while, but it’s worth a shot to see if they’ll assist you with unlocking your iPad.
Unfortunately, Apple might not be able to help you much here. They could assume the device is stolen since you don't have a receipt from an authorized retailer. Your best bet could be to go back to the retailer and ask them for the password or see if they can exchange the iPad for you. If not, you might just be left with a device you can't use.
I've heard that sometimes having a proper invoice along with an official letter might help? Also, if that doesn’t work, escalating your case to a senior advisor could get you farther. Just a thought!

Thanks for the tip! I'll definitely give that a shot.
