Best Logging and Monitoring Tools for SaaS with Minimal Self-Hosting?

I'm on the hunt for a logging and monitoring tool that can help our developers get metrics and logs from our Azure App Services and Azure SQL services. Right now, I'm using Azure Managed Grafana for alerting and Datadog for infrastructure log ingestion and SIEM, aiming for a setup that requires minimal self-hosting since I'm the only devops person in the team. I'm not using either for our app services because Azure Managed Grafana doesn't support Loki, and Datadog is just too pricey.

I've considered SigNoz, but it needs a centralized collector setup like an AKS cluster or a custom VM, which goes against my goal of cloud simplicity. I also looked at Splunk, but their interface felt really confusing. Ideally, I'd like one tool that can handle alerting, SIEM, infrastructure logging, and app service metrics, but with our budget constraints, that feels out of reach. I'm just wondering if I'm too set on avoiding self-hosting; I'd really prefer not to manage any storage systems since I'm the only one handling ops. For context, we have about 30 developers here.

Have you thought about Grafana Cloud? It sounds like it could be what you need for monitoring without the hassle of self-hosting. I know you mentioned confusing costs, but it might be worth checking out to see if they've improved since you last looked into it.

Yeah, I remember the costs can pile up, especially with user counts. Just be sure to check if they have any new pricing options.

Yeah, they did seem to have limited features a while back, but it could be a good fit depending on what you need now.
