How Do I Set Up Company Email and Logins for New Employees?

I recently got a job as the IT support for a small company, and I'm the only IT person here. I have a background in programming and application support, but now I'm tasked with setting up email accounts for all the employees and configuring their PCs from scratch. I've been trained in environments where everything was already established, so this is new territory for me. I want to learn how to effectively set up company email in Outlook, Teams, and ensure that everything is automated for future hires as the company grows. Are there any resources or courses that you would recommend for this?

Honestly, it sounds like you really need assistance with setting up a domain. Starting with Azure and Intune would be a solid direction if you're starting from scratch. This will help streamline the onboarding process for new employees.

You should focus on setting up Entra ID, Microsoft 365, and Intune or Autopilot, rather than just learning Outlook. The best approach is to start by establishing the tenant/domain, then create user accounts and groups, followed by enrolling devices. If it feels overwhelming, getting outside help for the initial setup might be a wise move instead of trying to manage everything alone.

Setting up Intune and Microsoft 365, along with Entra ID, sounds essential for your project. This combination will help you manage users and deploy applications across the PCs effectively.

It's great you're eager to jump in, but if this all feels daunting, you might want someone with more experience to lead the setup. It’s a big task, and guidance can make it easier.

I assume they're leaning on you since you're the most experienced IT person available, so don’t be too hard on yourself!
