I've recently noticed that my SSD heats up significantly when I'm downloading large games from platforms like Steam or Epic Games. This overheating can cause my laptop to crash and require a reboot. I'm looking for effective ways to cool down my SSD during these downloads. Any suggestions?

A simple solution is to get a thin SSD heatsink, like a copper plate, along with a thermal pad. You can find them online for a good price. Alternatively, if you have enough space, a thicker thermal pad positioned between the SSD and the laptop's bottom cover could work wonders. I used a cheap copper plate for my own SSD and it fit snugly, though it was a bit of a tight squeeze at first. Just check the reviews from other users to see what works best!
Yeah, I might also get a thick thermal pad. Sounds like a smart move!
Have you thought about letting your SSD take a smoke break? Studies say it makes you 20% cooler! Just kidding, but seriously, keeping it ventilated might help too.

I forgot that I could share pictures here. This is what I went for:
