Can I Complete the CS50x Course in 20 Days?

I recently discovered the CS50x course, which seems to have been popular for quite some time. It's structured over 11 weeks, featuring a total of 11 videos that are around 2 hours each. I initially thought I should pace myself with one video per week, but I can easily watch a full video in just a day. That made me wonder why it's labeled as an 11-week course when I find that duration quite short. So, is it feasible to complete this course within approximately 11 to 20 days?

Nobody's going to give you a prize for finishing quickly! The important part is understanding the content. Take your time and focus on learning rather than racing through.

You really have to do the homework if you want to learn. I took it as a refresher and could do one assignment a day since I have some background in CS, but even then, it took time to get everything right.

Absolutely, binge-watching a 2-hour video daily is completely doable! But you need to ask yourself how much you’ll truly remember afterwards and if you can apply what you've learned. Speedrunning through it isn't the best approach, especially for total beginners. You have to engage with the problem sets to really grasp the material.

Do you have any prior experience with programming? If not, then your journey will be quite different. Watching a car racing movie doesn't teach you to drive, right?

If you manage to complete all the problem sets in 11-20 days, it might mean the course isn't challenging enough for you. Just watching the lectures will give you a surfacy understanding, but you won't really dive into solving problems properly.

Feel free to set your own speed! Just keep in mind that you need to complete all the assignments. If you’re doing the problem sets regularly, the pacing is up to you.
