Is It Safe to Replace a Glass Side Panel with Mesh for Better Airflow?

I recently started playing Crimson Desert and noticed my PC was running hotter than I'd like, with my GPU hitting temperatures around 83-85°C during intense scenes. My setup is squeezed against the wall, limiting airflow a bit. To cool things down, I swapped the glass side panel for a DIY mesh panel, which dropped my GPU temps significantly to around 70-73°C at full load. Is this mesh panel solution okay for the long term, or should I be looking for another fix?

That setup sounds fine to me as long as you're seeing better temperatures! Just keep in mind that more airflow can also let in more dust, so you'll want to clean your PC regularly.

Honestly, it's perfectly fine to run it like that!

Open panels can lead to the best cooling, but you might deal with a lot of dust. I ended up switching back to a traditional case after a year. Just make sure to clean it regularly with compressed air or, if you're up for it, consider a cheap furnace filter to help with dust control!

Those electric blowers are fantastic too! They really cut down on how often you need to buy new air cans.

Yeah, dust is definitely the trade-off—filtering can make a big difference!

Plenty of folks run their systems open-air, so there's really nothing to worry about. Just remember to give it a good clean every few months to avoid dust buildup!

Exactly! A good cleaning routine will keep things running smoothly.

Right! Just some simple maintenance, and you should be golden!

If you don't have pets and you're okay with some noise, you might as well go without a side cover. It keeps your components safe from larger debris, but it's totally doable to run it open!
