Hey everyone! I recently had some issues with malware on my PC, which I've managed to clean up. However, I'm having a tough time securing my Microsoft account. I remember my password and the email associated with my account, but when I try to log in, it prompts me to verify my identity through a code sent to my phone. The problem is, I no longer have that phone number since I created the account a long time ago. There's an alternative method where I can fill out a recovery form with what I know about my account, but honestly, I don't remember much. I've tried my best to fill it out accurately, but when I click submit, it tells me that the information isn't enough to recover my account. I'm really in need of help to get my account back. Thanks!

Unfortunately, if you can’t recall enough details for the form, your account might be gone for good. Have you tried changing or deleting the account? Disconnecting your email from it might be the only option left.
If the recovery form keeps failing, your best bet is to keep trying with accurate info like old passwords and details from devices you've used. Also, submitting it from a familiar device can help. If that doesn’t work, you might need to contact Microsoft support directly. Just a heads up, recovering without the old phone number could get complicated.
Just so you know, we can't really assist with account issues directly as per the guidelines. Best of luck getting your account back!
