Should I Upgrade My AMD CPU and Motherboard or Just Replace Them?

I've been using a prebuilt PC with an HP motherboard, Ryzen 7 5700G, and a 3060 GPU since 2021, but my motherboard has now failed. Unfortunately, I've learned that I can't reuse the CPU since it's designed specifically for HP's boards. Now I'm on a budget of around $450 and I'm trying to decide whether to go for an AM4 motherboard and a Ryzen 7 5800XT plus two additional 8GB RAM sticks to reach 32GB total, or if I should invest in an AM5 motherboard but only have 16GB of DDR5. There's a Microcenter nearby that has some bundles, but I'm uncertain which route is best. Also, I'll need a new PSU and case, and my current monitors are only 1080p, with one at 100Hz and the other at 240Hz.

Definitely consider going for the AM5 setup if you can swing it! Microcenter has some great bundle deals right now, and while you might be spending a bit initially, it's a smart choice for the future. Plus, you're going to need to replace that PSU and case anyway, so why not invest in something that will last?

When you say '2 sticks', are you suggesting going for a total of 32GB or sticking with 16GB? Just wanted to clarify because I definitely need to prioritize a new PSU and case too!
