Troubleshooting Thermal Issues with i5-14600KF

I've recently upgraded my setup with an i5-14600KF on a Gigabyte B760M motherboard and I'm using an ID-COOLING FROZN A410 DK cooler rated for 230W TDP, complete with two 120mm fans. However, I'm facing some serious thermal problems: during gaming, the CPU temps are between 60°C and 80°C, and during stress tests, they shoot up to 95°C, leading to thermal throttling. Even at idle or low loads, the temperatures are still higher than I expected.

I've tried reapplying thermal paste, switching to Arctic MX-4, but didn't see much difference. I also attempted undervolting, but it resulted in blue screens. Currently, my ambient temperature is around 25°C, and I have poor case airflow because there are no intake fans, just a single 120mm exhaust fan near the CPU. Additionally, I have an RTX 5070 which adds extra heat.

I've got a few questions: is this thermal behavior normal for the 14600KF in a case with limited airflow? Is my cooler just not cutting it? How do I properly adjust settings in the Gigabyte B760M BIOS for undervolting or power limits without triggering performance issues? Lastly, would upgrading to a 280mm or 360mm AIO cooler be necessary, or can I resolve this just by improving my case airflow and adding fans? I'm hoping to figure out whether I need to keep working on the air cooler or make the switch to liquid cooling.

You're definitely seeing cooling issues due to restricted airflow in your case. Keeping your system cool is all about how well the heatsink can dissipate heat, and if the case air is warm, that process takes a hit. First off, try to add some intake fans – they can make a significant difference! Also, make sure to check what case you currently have; it might help to see if it's designed for better airflow. Also, setting a power limit after adjusting other overclocking features in the BIOS should help manage the heat better. Don't rush into buying a new cooler just yet!

What case are you using? Might help to see if additional fans can fit!
