I've run into a weird issue with my headphone jack. After plugging my headphones into an electric drumset and then back into my PC, the audio quality went downhill. Now, it sounds echoey, with some sounds being super faint while others are normal. I've tried different headphones, but the problem persists. Any ideas on what's going on? This started about three years ago.

It sounds like the drumset may have caused an overload, potentially damaging the headphone jack. This kind of issue can happen if the output wasn't properly filtered. Basically, you might have a similar situation to that scene in Back to the Future where overloading the speakers caused them to blow! If new headphones work fine, then the jack likely needs some attention.
Have you checked whether the problem is with the jack itself or the headphones? It's a good idea to try using a different set of headphones to see what happens. Since you mentioned the issue arose after using them with the drumset, there's a chance that something might have gone wrong with the headphones when plugged into that device. Just a thought!
I tried using different headphones on the jack, and I'm hearing the same weird audio, so it's definitely the jack that's the problem.

I can confirm the issue isn't with the headphones themselves because they sound normal on other devices.
