Hey everyone! It's been around five years since my last upgrade, and I'm hoping to put together a new PC. I'm pretty familiar with tech specs, but I've fallen out of touch with the current market, aside from the ridiculous RAM prices. I'm aiming for a clean, white build and would love your suggestions. My budget is about $2,000, but I'd prefer to spend less if possible. I'm replacing almost everything, except for my GPU, which is an RTX 4070 that I'll keep. Here's what I need:
- Case
- Motherboard
- CPU (preferably AMD)
- Air CPU Cooler (I've had bad experiences with liquid cooling)
- 32GB RAM
- 2 SSDs (1x 500GB and 1x 2TB)
- Power Supply
- Fans (if necessary)
Thanks for your help!

Honestly, I think your current setup is still really good for gaming, especially since you mostly play competitive titles. Upgrading may not be necessary right now. For example, the spec rumors for GTA 6 suggest it will run fine on an RTX 3060. Your current PC could actually outperform a PS5, so if it’s working fine for your needs, you might want to hold off a bit longer on upgrades until prices drop.
If you're focused on gaming, I'd recommend considering an AMD 9850X3D; with your budget, you should be able to fit that in nicely since you don’t need a new GPU. Also, for a solid setup, look into the Lian Li V100 case, which is an attractive white option. Pair it with a 360mm AIO cooler, and you'll have great airflow and a nice RGB setup too!
Thanks for the suggestions! Just to clarify, I’m mostly gaming and streaming occasionally. Titles I play include Valorant, GTA V, and I’m looking forward to GTA VI. Plus, I want to dive into story-driven games like Resident Evil. Do you think this build will handle those?

That’s a fair point, but I feel like my system is struggling a lot. It takes forever to boot, and I’ve noticed a lot of lag. My SSDs could be slowing things down, and I don’t have a lot of space left for new games. Any thoughts on how I could improve performance?
