My Computer Won’t POST: What Could Be Wrong?

Hey everyone, I've got a bit of a predicament with my computer. It used to POST just fine, but now it's stuck in a weird state. The lights and fans turn on, but there's no progress—sometimes it randomly boots into the operating system only to crash shortly after, unlike the typical blue screen. This problem started recently and my computer is about 7 years old. I've already tried swapping the CMOS battery and reseating the GPU and RAM, but it hasn't helped.

I have a BIOS flashback button on my motherboard, but I'm wary that if it's a power supply issue, I might end up bricking the motherboard. Could it be that the BIOS is loading incorrectly, causing this issue? Or is there something else going on? Am I looking at a power supply replacement? Also, just to note, there are no debug LEDs lighting up, and I can tell it's not starting correctly since normally the fans would quiet down when it loads the BIOS.

Have you checked if there are any POST lights or debug LEDs on your motherboard? Those lights can give you a clue about what’s happening. If they flash for a second and then go out, that could be a sign something isn’t initializing correctly. It might be worth inspecting your components to ensure everything is securely connected.

No, there aren’t any persistent lights. They just blink for a moment and then fade away.

It sounds like you might need to dive deeper into your system's dump files for a better diagnosis. If you can access Windows—maybe through Safe Mode—check for crash logs at C:WindowsMinidump. Those logs can really help pinpoint what's going wrong. You can zip the folder and upload it to a sharing site like catbox.moe or mediafire.com. Also, consider changing your settings to create Small Memory Dumps, which is useful for troubleshooting.
