I've had a nightmare week with my SSD! A few days ago, I was playing games on Steam when I suddenly got a Disk Write Error. It was totally out of nowhere since everything was fine just the day before. I noticed that while the game folders were still there, all the files had vanished. Restarting the PC brought them back, but every time I tried to play, I got the same error. Just yesterday, I tried to access the SSD for some file transfers, but I ran into a "device does not exist" error. I had to restart again to access it, but it wouldn't let me transfer any files. I suspected the files were corrupted, so I attempted to run chkdsk, but it turns out the disk had turned RAW. Disklist and cleaning commands didn't work either, and I just can't format it. It's like my SSD has turned into a brick! CrystalDisk said it was healthy, and I can't figure out why this happened so suddenly. I've tried swapping out the SATA cables and ports, but nothing helps. I did wonder if it might be a controller issue. Has anyone experienced something similar or have suggestions?

Yeah, SSDs can fail catastrophically out of the blue. It's rough since HDDs tend to give you warnings when they're on the brink, but SSDs often don't. You've gotta be careful with them!
This seems like more of a hardware issue, possibly the SSD controller. For peace of mind, run an antivirus or antimalware scan just in case something's messing with your system.
Sounds like a classic case for why backups are crucial! Nowadays, it's hard to get away from always having backups, especially with how aggressively Windows pushes OneDrive. Might be something to look into!
What SSD model are you using? You could also try booting into a Linux recovery environment. Sometimes that can read the drive when other systems can't.
Check what Samsung Magician says about your SSD’s health. It usually gives you warnings if there's something wrong with the drive. You might find some clues there!
