I'm planning on building a PC for a console-like experience and want to connect it to my LG 65-Inch C5 OLED TV, which supports 144Hz. I'm looking for advice on which components and specifications I should focus on, specifically for the GPU and any necessary HDMI cables, to ensure optimal graphics. Also, do I just need a USB port for the controller? Any setup tips would be appreciated!

For a 65'' TV, it's best to invest in a strong GPU. A minimum of a 5070, or ideally a 5070 Ti, will work well for 4K. NVIDIA graphics cards are helpful because of their DLSS feature for upscaling and better frame rates. For the controller, I use a GameSir Cyclone 2, and it connects easily with a dongle—just need a USB port! There are many similar controllers out there too.
Setting it up like a console is more about how you configure the software than just the hardware. If you're using Windows, you can set it to boot directly into Steam, skipping the Windows login, and jump straight into Big Picture Mode. If you want a fully console-like setup, consider using SteamOS or Bazzite, which bypasses a traditional OS. One cool feature I wanted was the ability to power on my PC using the controller—it was tough with an Xbox controller; I ended up using a Razer one instead.
I had no idea those options existed! I’ll stick with the Windows login for now but want my gaming experience optimized for my TV and controller.

Thanks for the info! Quick question: what specs should I look for in the GPU to support a 65” TV?
