I recently had to send my motherboard in for an RMA, and now I have all my other PC components just sitting around without their original packaging. I've thrown them into a box, but I'm worried this might not be the best way to keep them safe. Should I be concerned about static? Any suggestions on how to store them properly?

I'd definitely recommend using antistatic bags for your components before putting them in a box. They offer great protection! But if you don’t have those right now, just make sure the parts aren’t touching each other directly. Keeping them in a box is better than leaving them exposed.
Static electricity usually builds up when two materials rub against each other, so if your components are just resting in a box, you should be fine. For future storage, if you end up needing to toss the original boxes, hold onto the antistatic bags that the components came in. They’re really handy and don't take up much space!
