Why Are My Games Running Poorly on Linux Mint Compared to Windows?

I recently switched to Linux Mint from Windows, and I've noticed that the performance of my games has significantly dropped. I'm wondering if I should try a different operating system. I've heard some people mention trying 'Bazzite,' but I also need this PC for coding and other tasks. I attempted to use the Nvidia 580 drivers, but my games are still lagging. What are my options?

To help you out, could you share what specific games are lagging? Also, how did you go about installing the drivers? Understanding your setup better will help in pinpointing the issue!

I'm having lag with Roblox and a Steam game called Lucid Blocks. Both ran smoothly on Windows at max settings. I installed the drivers using the default installation tool that comes with Linux Mint. I want to use my PC for game development in Godot, modeling in Blender, and coding in C++. Never tried Bazzite before, just currently using Linux Mint.
