I just turned on my PC and my 1080 Ti graphics card started smoking and even caught fire right after I hit the power button! Now my house smells like an electrical fire. The flames seemed to come from the PCI-e power connectors. I'm using a Seasonic 750W power supply. Can anyone explain how this might have happened?

Sounds like a freak accident. Your card is pretty old, so electrical components can fail. It might be that the power connection wasn't solid, or there could be a short circuit. Either way, it definitely needs checking out before you power anything else on!

I’ve had this card since day one. Do you think the rest of my PC is safe? I really can’t afford a new computer, much less a new graphics card. I'm wary of getting used parts because all my pre-owned stuff has broken quickly before.
